Electric Hotel is a lonely, bizarre and beautiful outdoor spectacle; a uniquely designed, fly-by-night hotel brought to vivid life through dance and sound by the team of director David Rosenberg (co-founder of Shunt and director of Contains Violence at the Lyric Hammersmith) and co-director/choreographer Frauke Requardt (choreographer for the Sadler’s Wells/Young Vic collaboration Pictures from an Exhibition) with designer Börkur Jónsson (designer of Romeo & Juliet at the Young Vic, Woyzeck at Barbican, Metamorphosis at Lyric Hammersmith).

Sitting on the outside looking in, the audience snatch glimpses of the do-not-disturb lives unfolding behind the floor to ceiling windows. Wearing headphones to eavesdrop on the internal spaces of the building they watch the residents in their private rooms: the natural habits, the unnatural fantasies and housekeeping of wildly varied quality.

The privilege and thrill for the voyeur is seeing the bigger picture.

Conceived and directed by David Rosenberg

Reviews!

"This is moving, atmospheric stuff and yet another talking point for a city that's fast becoming the place to see challenging, imaginative theatre."
Bristol Evening Post 9/10

"Watching and hearing this highly-absorbing visual spectacle unfold in a hitherto-untried dimension (to these ears at least) is a wonderfully immersive thrill. As people leave, visibly stunned, you can almost sense them begrudgingly readjusting to the real world."
Make Me Neon

"Electric Hotel’s rich combination of superb music and stunning dance is beautiful, sexy, unsettling, intelligent, intriguing and very, very stylish."
